I have extensive training in evidence-based psychological interventions such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. Whenever possible, I integrate emotion-focused approach and mindfulness strategies.
I believe that therapy is a constatnt “dance” of acceptance and change processes, so my approach is very much “dialectical” - firm and flexible, warm and direct, validating and change-focused. In our initial sessions, I would like to obtain a good understanding of where you have been in the past and where you would like to see yourself in the future, so that we can make some meaningful changes in the present to help you build a life worth of living.
I am flexible and client centered, and I value feedback and open discussion about how therapy is going as we work together. Our therapeutic relationship is a top priority, as I believe that a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship provides a solid foundation for therapeutic progress.

I have always had a strong interest in understanding how the human mind works. Growing up, I have received the feedback from others that I am calm, empathic, understanding, and accepting.
My passion for “being helpful” was further shaped by the experience of moving to Canada with my family as new immigrants, where we all struggled to figure out how to adapt in this new environment and to maintain a sense of fulfillment and wellness. I also witnessed the many challenges facing newcomers in navigating the health care system.
Throughout the rest of my academic years and professional training, I have specialized in the assessment and treatment of mental health challenges, and have acquired in-depth clinical experiences working across different settings and with different client populations.
In addition to my private practice, I also hold positions in the public health sector providing direct clinical service and consultation, as well as the training and teaching of other mental health clinicians.
